-
- Subject : Differences for 1.46 - 1.48.
-
- Versions 1.46 and 1.47 were development and test versions passed
- out for testing of the various additions, and were not released.
-
- AN EXTRA LINE HAS BEEN ADDED TO THE PK232COM.SYS FILE TO
- CONFIGURE PK232COM TO ALLOW/DISALLOW THE BBS-MAIL-SNATCH. You
- must insert it into your file if updating from Version 1.45.
-
- 1 BBS_Mail_Snatch. If PK232COM sees a BBS Mail beacon with
- <yourcall> in it, it (if the QTC_Snatch is enabled), will
- connect to the BBS and download your mail. It will leave it
- on your system as as if it was an incoming message addressed
- to the callsign that you placed in the first line of the
- PK232COM.SYS file (Tested on W0RLI/VE3GYQ and WA7MBL only so
- far).
-
- 2 WA7MBL and W0RLI/VE3GYQ BBS Auto Upload command file.
-
- 3 In AMTOR, Function key 8 toggles between ALIST and FEC (IE.
- between monitoring QSO's in progress and CQ calls).
-
- 4 Kantronics KPC2 now supported as 'KPC' for software switched
- HF/VHF changeover. Set the correct line in the PK232COM.SYS
- file to KPC (no period or figure 2 please).
-
- 5 Message scan feature (Alt M) added to allow messages to be
- scanned. Incoming messages are changed from 'OUT' to a
- numerical sequence after being scanned.
-
- 6 PK232 transmit buffer is also flushed before the start of a
- 'call' sequence (Function Key 7) in the non packet modes.
-
- 7 'CMSG ON' no longer built into start up code, ie. can now be
- set by operator.
-
- 8 QRU (Control Fk 3) works with stations with SSID's. In
- previous versions it would work only in packet if the MBX
- file contained the SSID (ie. if you connected to G3ZCZ-8,
- the file had to be called G3ZCZ-8.MBX instead of G3ZCZ.MBX).
-
- 9 :QDB: Remote ASCII file upload capability added (Reverse of
- QBM).
-
- 10 Alt Fk2 no longer asks you to set the PK-232 communications
- mode if you are using a TNC1 or TNC2.
-
- 11 QTC_Snatch now also stores messages as incoming messages,
- (IE> in <yourcall.OUT>) and no longer puts them in the
- PK232CO.RUN file. This only works if the other station is
- running PK232COM 1.45+, or on any station if THEY FAKE A
- BEACON CALL SO AS TO MAKE YOU CONNECT TO THEM AND there is a
- '>' AS THE LAST CHARACTER ON A LINE at the start and end of
- the message.
-
- 12 Bridge added for non PK232COM multi way connects. You can
- be the central digipeater for a multi way packet connect.
- áááááWHATC╚ OU╘ FO╥ disconnects.
-
- 13 Alt D function key redefined to 'Disconnect' (Duplicates
- áááááFK8).
-
- 14 Beacon text updates when count drops to zero to show no
- calls. (No on-air effect was noticed previously since
- beacon transmissions were inhibited anyhow). Beacon also
- inhibited if only message on system is to own station.
-
- 15 Menu color changes.
-
- 16 Added new packet terminal mode feature 'Everything' for
- áááááPK-232 TNC. It's equivalent to "MON 6".
-
- You probably have noticed that new features are being added to
- PK232COM all the time. Most are inspired by the continual use of
- PK232COM, but some are due to suggestions from other users.
-
- What additional features would you like to see in subsequent
- releases?
